What you will learn

In this course you will learn about tractors and their importance, farm implements and their importance in the field, traffic rules and regulations and road safety, as well as major components and systems of the tractor and their functions, along with performing periodic maintenance of tractor and its implements and maintain a logbook. You will also learn how to select proper tools and materials for tractor maintenance, exercise safety precautions in the use of tools, understand farm equipment machinery, appliance dashboards, and take care of batteries and electric systems of the tractor.

Training Outcome

After completing this course you will be able to qualify as a tractor operator and get a driving license, operate a tractor efficiently with all essential implements by observing necessary precautions and driving rules, perform field operations skilfully with the tractors and implements, and manoeuvre farm trolleys with desired safety. You will also be able to select and use workshop tools correctly, properly and carefully, tackle minor faults in tractors such as removing wheels or tyres, removing airlock, mending a flatted tube and perform routine maintenance and periodic servicing of farm tractors. The course will also have enabled you to install and remove tractor implements with three points linkages, know procedure to maintain the battery and electric system, know the adjustments for changing a v-belt, maintain the tractor logbook, know first aid and safety measures during practical work.
