Receptionists specialize in front office management functions namely greeting customers, managing room inventory and facilitating guests.

What you will learn

In this course you will learn about how to register guests and assign rooms, accommodate special requests where possible and assist in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservation. You will also learn how to understand to proper credit, cheque cashing and cash handling policies and procedures, as well as understand room status and tracking, types of rooms available and coordinate with housekeeping for all check-outs and early check-ins. The course will also teach you about reservations (same day reservations, future reservations, cancellation procedures), how to process check-outs, follow procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by guests, and about department meetings and coordinating maintenance work.

After completing this course, you will be able to follow the system of the front office department, maintain the room inventory, use the office equipment’s, handle reservations and implement check in procedures and also provide effective guest services and coordinate with guests.
