Overview

Industrial Lab Technicians are experts in monitoring chemical processes and testing products as part of quality assurance. They are also capable of maintaining laboratory or technical equipment and setting up laboratory or field equipment.

What you will learn

Industrial Chemical Lab Technician (ICLT) graduates will assist in performing the responsibilities for monitoring chemical processes and testing products as part of quality assurance. Under the supervision of chemists and other team members, they perform repetitive lab activities, such as
setting up lab equipment and preparing chemical solutions. They also conduct tests, interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present their conclusions.

Training Outcome

On successful completion of this course, the trainee should be able to apply the technical knowledge in the daily operation of industrial chemistry laboratories, demonstrate an understanding of the chemical terminology, concepts, and laboratory and computer skills, interact with colleagues and customers within the chemical laboratory workplace, apply problem-solving skills and methodologies to real-life situations in the classroom and laboratory environments, demonstrate employability skills required in the modern workplace, analyze chemical compounds or substances, interpret research or operational data, clean objects and learn disposal methods, maintain laboratory or technical equipment and set up laboratory or field equipment.
