Repair & maintenance of electrical appliance technicians specialize in learning to diagnose and repair faults and install electrical and electronic components.

What you will learn

In this course you will learn to understand basic electrical theory, define the name and identification of electrical instruments/equipment and tools (combination pliers, cutter pliers, star kit set, multi meter, volt meter ampere meter, tong tester, screw wrench, screw driver set, hammer, rubber hammer, testing board, leads, wire stripper, lock pliers pulley puller, soldering iron etc.), and understand the working of common electrical objects and appliances such as fluorescent tube lights, electric irons, fans, washing machines, electric heaters, electric kettles, toasters, sandwich makers, blender/juicers ( that includes construction, function of parts and circuit diagram explanation). You will also be able to understand the electrical wiring circuit diagram, explicate the single-phase electric motors, and differentiate between the types and sizes of cables as per electrical load.

Training Outcome

After completing this course you will be able to diagnose the faults and remedy of fluorescent tube lights, electric iron, electric fans, washing machine, electric heater, electric kettle, toaster/sandwich maker, blender juicer/grinder, adopt/apply electrical appliance safety rules, personal safety precautions of instruments/equipment and tools, and carryout first aid treatment in case of electric shock. You will also be able to use the basic laws of electricity for calculations, use hand tools like pliers, hacksaws, hammers, screwdrivers, use suitable types and sizes of cables as per electrical load, interpret the electrical wiring diagrams, and disassemble and assemble single phase ac motors and remove their faults.
