Tool & die makers specialize in tool & die making operations namely cutting sheet metal and processing and re-sharpening cutting tools.

What you will learn

In this course you will learn about technical drawing, measuring instruments, common steels used in tool and die making & their mechanical properties and about the purpose of the lathe m/c & its major parts. You will also learn about the principal parts of a CNC lathe and how it works, as well as about the purpose of the milling machine & the movement of its various parts.

Training Outcome

After completing this course, you will be able to understand drawings, select the speed and feed, and operate conventional machine tools such as lathe, drilling, and grinding tools. You will also be able to work on CNC machine tools like lathe and acquire dexterity in non-conventional machining, for example wire cutting and dies components. The course will also have taught you to understand heat treatment techniques, assemble and disassemble dies and understand quality control procedures.
