Overview

This course is designed to impart skills & knowledge to trainees about Artificial Insemination of animals( AI ).

What you will learn

This course covers an introduction to the history of AI, anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive system of bovines, merits and demerits of AI, estorus cycle in dairy animals, heat detection, insemination procedures, pregnancy diagnosis in domestic animals, semen collection of dairy bulls, its dilution and cryopreservation. Care and management of liquid nitrogen container, and handling of reproductive problems in domestic animals.

Training Outcome

On successful completion of this course, the trainee should be able to take care of the reproductive health of animals, handle/restrain animals for examination and treatment, perform breeding soundness examination of cattle and buffalos through rectal palpation, assess the proper time of insemination, perform heat detection in dairy animals, inseminate the cows and buffaloes, handle and prepare the bulls for semen collection, perform semen collection, dilution and freezing, handle the liquid nitrogen containers and perform pregnancy diagnosis in bovines.
