Overview

This course provides the students with technical knowledge and skill in the field of dairy Nutrition and related management practices.

What you will learn

In this course you will learn various good farm practices related t nutrition that if adopted at farm can ensure quality milk production with cost effectiveness. Nutrition accounts for about 70% of recurring expenses. It also covers various techniques that can result in enhanced milk production by using available resources or home grown ingredients

On successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

1. Observe animals at farm and identify abnormal behaviour that helps to recognize diseased animals.
2. Prepare multi-nutrient blocks.
3. Prepare urea-treated wheat straw.
4. Evaluate the nutritive quality of feedstuffs in the laboratory
5. Evaluate the nutritive quality based on the physical characteristics of feedstuffs.

Formulate a balanced ratio from any given ingredients
