Lahore – PSDF has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIA), the national flag carrier. The collaboration is to facilitate air ticketing for skilled workers under the flagship Chief Minister’s Parwaaz Card Scheme – Maryam Nawaz Hunarmand Naujawan.
Under the MoU, eligible Parwaaz Card beneficiaries travelling abroad for employment will be able to purchase one-way economy class tickets using their Parwaaz Card through POS machines installed at designated PIA ticketing offices and airport service counters across Punjab. The arrangement will simplify travel arrangements and improve access to overseas employment.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed Khan, CEO PSDF, and Nosherwan Adil, CCO, PIA. The signing ceremony was attended by Azka Munir, Head of Program Design, PSDF, and senior management from both organizations.
Through the Parwaaz Card Scheme, PSDF, in collaboration with the Bank of Punjab (BOP), is providing interest-free financing to 45,000 semi-skilled and skilled youth across Punjab to cover pre-departure expenses after securing verified overseas job offers. The partnership with PIA operationalizes the airfare component through dedicated POS facilities at PIA offices, enabling hassle-free travel for beneficiaries departing for employment across priority sectors, including construction, hospitality, and healthcare.
“This partnership with PIA is a significant milestone in strengthening the Parwaaz Card ecosystem. By integrating air ticketing directly into the scheme, we are removing one of the final logistical barriers for skilled workers embarking on overseas careers. It is another step towards making international employment more accessible and affordable for Punjab’s skilled youth,” said Ahmed Khan, CEO PSDF.
“PIA is proud to partner with PSDF in supporting the Government of Punjab’s vision for skilled manpower export. As Pakistan’s national flag carrier, we remain committed to providing reliable and accessible travel solutions for the country’s outbound workforce. We are pleased to collaborate on this important public initiative to facilitate international employment opportunities for skilled youth.” said Nosherwan Adil, Chief Commercial Officer, PIA
The partnership with PIA marks another important step in strengthening Punjab’s overseas employment ecosystem. Through this initiative, the Government of Punjab aims to position the province as Pakistan’s leading source of internationally competitive skilled manpower, advancing the Chief Minister’s vision for economic growth and global workforce mobility.
