Overview
Welders learn the details of all welding operations including TIG, MIG and SAW welding.
What you will learn
In this course, you will learn about hand tools and other equipment used during welding operations, as well as identifying and using different types of materials, and using cutting tools and instruments. You will also learn how to understand basic welding symbols, read and interpret drawings, and bevel preparation and tacking. In addition, the course will also teach you about arc (SMAW) welding equipment, GMAW, GTAW and SAW welding equipment and their use and safety. You will also learn how to describe welding joints, inspect and test welded joints to ensure weld quality, and understand welding defects and their identification and rectification.

Training Outcome
After completing this course, you will be able to observe safety precautions with tools and equipment, grind on a work piece using pencil grinders, and use cutting machine/discs. You will also be able to carry out SMAW welding of common welding joints in different positions, GMAW welding of common welding joints in different positions, GTAW welding of common welding joints in different positions, and SAW welding of common welding joints. You will also have gained understanding of different metals and electrodes, and how to operate and control welding machines.
