Punjab Skills Development Fund launched Skills for Employability scheme in June 2011. Under the scheme, a total of 15,442 individuals from the districts of Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Lodhran were trained. Trainings were imparted in various trades that ranged from Tailoring to Specialized Embroidery, from Home Appliances Repair to Welding, from Professional Cook to Order Taker, from Sales Person to Tunnel Farming and a multitude of other demand-driven technical courses. About 7,429 females completed their training under this initiative.The female trainee attended courses that include: Football Hand Stitching, Machine Embroidery, Hand Embroidery, Traditional Birth Attendants and many other courses.Punjab Skills Development Fund procured training services from 31 organizations to provide trainings to the eligible candidates in 68 trades from 17 diverse sectors. The trainings were aimed at enhancing the employment prospects for the trained individuals, not only in their home towns but on national as well as international levels.
