What you will learn
In this course you will learn how to work with hand tools, equipment and machine tools, common types of materials and their uses, the common marking and measuring tools, grinders, hacksaws, cutting tools, griping tools, common pipe and structure clamping devices/levelling tools, common types of fasteners, screws, nails and their uses. You will also learn how to finish and prime and paint, about the common types of flanges, valves, fitting, gaskets, types of joints and loosening and tightening procedures. The course will also teach you about the common types of power tools, hands tools, and pneumatic tools and their uses, and common types of bevelling and welding techniques.

Training Outcome
After completing this course, you will be able to observe all safety precautions about tools and equipment, learn about common working hand tools (measuring, tightening, cutting tools, levelling tools, chiselling tools), their use and maintenance, and about sharpening and setting of cutting tools and using of power tools like grinders, drill machine, etc. You will also be able to identify metals in common use and be able to distinguish good and defective metals, mark plates/pipe as per drawings and fabricate accordingly, use fasteners, screw, nails and hardware, finish and file metal surfaces, and join metals by for e.g. bolting, welding. By the end of the course, you will also have learnt how to create temporary joints, mark and prepare a job to work on pipes, plates and structures and tighten and loosen flanges, valves, bends etc.
