What you will learn
In this course you will get an introduction to fiber optics, learn about the history of fiber optic technology, learn telecommunication fundamentals, classification of optical fiber cables and light propagation through optical fibers. You will also learn about the basics of electronic and electrical devices, optical fiber communication (OFC) installation and restoration, jointing of optical fiber cables, splicing and connecting optical fiber cables, as well as testing and measurement techniques.

Training Outcome
After completing this course you will be able to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of fiber optics, telecommunication and computer networks, as well as light propagation through optical fiber, optical fiber Cable classification and installation, jointing, splicing and connecting optical fiber cables, and OFC test and measurement techniques. You will also understand the SDH network topology structure, configuration, and carry out commissioning and maintenance of the SDH network.
