This course will allow the trainee to be fully aware of the various functions of a computer and the various applications found in computers.
What you will learn
In this course you will learn about the definition of a computer and understand the general working of a CPU, input, output and storage units, the difference between Microsoft Windows and DOS. You will also learn about DOS and MS Windows commands, MS Windows objects and their use as well as v, various techniques to improve computer typing, and the structure of a spreadsheet. Additionally you will also learn about worksheet data entry and manipulation techniques and the functions of presentation software and work on. Moreover, you will also learn how to use the internet and its application to retrieve information, learn about electronic mail (e-mail) and its functioning and learn about the need for using stabilizers and Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) and know their specifications, office environment and use of office machines/equipment.

After the completion of this course you will be able to switch off the computer as per procedures, operate the computer and run software package, work with disk operating systems and be conversant with MS Windows 98/2000 operating systems. This course will also allow you to type on the computer at a speed of 30-40 words per minute, be able to type, format and print documents using Microsoft Word (English), Inpage (Urdu word processing), enter, format, manipulate and print data in MS Excel, make and run presentation using MS PowerPoint. In addition to this, you will also learn how to display multimedia presentations, work in networking environments, retrieve information form the internet, send and receive messages though e-mail, become proficient in office procedures and operate common office machines
